Utilizing RFID Technology

FLASHSCAN-RFID™

FLASHSCAN-RFID™ is an upgrade option for the FLASHSCAN patron self-checkout product. This option enables FLASHSCAN to read RFID tags. Furthermore, this option allows FLASHSCAN to scan barcodes and read RFID tags, thus, the Library’s patrons can still perform self-checkout on materials shared with other branches or consortium members that are not using RFID tags.

FLASHSCAN-RFID™ complies the ISO standards for RFID tags. The FLASHSCAN-RFID™ supports all RFID vendor tags that are compliant with RFID standard ISO/IEC 15693 and 18000-3.

FLASHSCAN-RFID™ can be ordered as an option for installed FLASHSCAN if and when the Library decides to implement RFID tags. Libraries already using RFID tags simply order FLASHSCAN with the FLASHSCAN-RFID™ option.

FLASHSCAN-RFID™ delivers added value services to the library. The FLASHSCAN station with FLASHSCAN-RFID™ installed can perform the patron self-checkout process, and also, function as a RFID conversion station. This added value capability is a big savings to the Library.
