Utilizing RFID Technology

FlashScan-StaffStation™

FlashScan-StaffStation™ is is a flat pad device for reading RFID tags on the circulation material of the Library. The product is specifically for use by the library staff working at the circ counter. The FlashScan-StaffStation™ connects to an existing ILS terminal at the circ counter, thus, protecting current investments by the Library.

The operation of the FlashScan-StaffStation™ makes the Library’s utilization of RFID tags transparent to the ILS circulation materials database. This can save the Library from having to license additional ILS software modules for RFID support, or purchase addition SIP licenses in order to interface new devices with the Library’s ILS.

FlashScan-StaffStation™ enables the circulation counter staff to take advantage of the FlashScan functions to allow multiple RFID tag reads with a single pass. Just like the FlashScan-RFID™ option, the FlashScan-StaffStation™ can also be used as a RFID tag conversion station.
